SIALKOT: The Department of Urdu at Government College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS), in collaboration with the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC), has announced a prestigious one-day international seminar scheduled for Thursday, May 21, 2026.

The seminar, titled "Urdu Lexicography and Grammar Writing: From Colonialism to the Present Era," aims to explore the historical trajectory, linguistic shifts, and modern dynamics of the Urdu language's structural development.

A key highlight of the seminar is its alignment with a specialized research grant led by Dr. Muhammad Khurram Yasin, which centers on the critical research and translation of the oldest known Urdu-Hindi dictionary and grammar tracks originally compiled in Dutch.
