KUWAIT: Ministry of Islamic Affairs is monitoring the country's hajj mission on a daily basis, overseeing the quality of services provided across Kuwaiti pilgrimage camps, Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Mohammed Al-Wasmi said Sunday. He told KUNA that the ministry is in direct and continuous contact with field officials on the ground to ensure pilgrims' wellbeing and address any concerns immediately.

Al-Wasmi praised the extensive experience accumulated by veteran mission members over the years, as well as the dedication of newer members, and urged pilgrims to reach out through their camp offices or dedicated mobile applications, which allow both pilgrims and their families to submit inquiries or feedback around the clock.

This comes after the head of the Kuwaiti Hajj Mission, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs Dr Suleiman Al-Suwailem, confirmed on Saturday that all Kuwaiti pilgrims had arrived safely in Saudi Arabia across 64 pilgrim groups, ready to perform this year's hajj rituals. Speaking from the mission's headquarters in Makkah, Al-Suwailem said all groups had reached their accommodations smoothly, with strong coordination from relevant authorities.

He urged pilgrims to adhere to all organizational guidelines issued by the competent authorities to ensure their safety and allow them to perform their rites with ease and peace of mind. The Kuwaiti Hajj Mission includes representatives from the Ministries of Islamic Affairs, Health, Information, Interior, and Foreign Affairs, alongside the General Fire Force, the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition and the Public Authority for Youth.

The Public Authority of Civil Aviation also announced Saturday the successful completion of its pilgrim departure plan, confirming that all hajj flights had departed Kuwait for the holy sites in Saudi Arabia in accordance with the approved operational schedule for this year's season. The authority said it had worked in close cooperation with the ministries of interior and Islamic affairs, the General Administration of Customs, Kuwaiti hajj groups, and ground service providers to ensure a seamless departure process. Return flights are scheduled to begin on May 30 and conclude on May 31, in full coordination with Kuwaiti hajj groups and Saudi authorities. – KUNA
